Terms and Conditions for Frenchtoenglish.com
These terms govern your use of the website Frenchtoenglish.com, the free material published on it, and the one product sold through it. Using the website means accepting them.
We have kept this page as short as the subject allows. Where a rule exists only because a lawyer would expect it, we say so plainly rather than dressing it up.
- What this website provides, free and paid.
- Purchases, prices and delivery.
- Acceptable use of the content.
- Intellectual property and reuse in teaching.
- Liability, changes and applicable law.
What this website provides
Frenchtoenglish.com publishes learning material for English speakers studying French. Most of it is free and requires no account.
Free material
- The Learning Center guides.
- The French Briefing and its comprehension quizzes.
- The level tests and the downloadable PDFs.
- The book recommendations in the Library.
No account is required to read any of it. An email address is only needed if you ask for our newsletter or for a quiz result to be sent to you.
Paid material
One product: the Summer French Gamebook, available as a PDF sold on this website and as a printed book sold through Amazon.
The French Progress Pass described elsewhere on this site is not on sale. Signing up to its waiting list creates no obligation on either side and no payment of any kind.
What this is not
We do not provide tuition, one-to-one teaching, exam certification, or any personalised assessment. A level test result is an indication, not a qualification, and no institution is obliged to recognise it.
Accuracy
We check our facts, cite official sources where administrative or legal matters are involved, and correct articles when they turn out to be wrong. Even so, published guidance is general information, not advice about your particular situation.
Purchases, prices and delivery
Payment on this website is handled by SureCart. Card details go to their payment processor and never pass through our own systems.
Prices
Prices are shown in US dollars on the product page and are the ones that apply at the moment of purchase. We may change prices at any time, but never retroactively on an order already placed.
Delivery
The PDF is delivered by email immediately after payment. If it does not arrive, write to us and we send it directly. Printed copies are shipped by Amazon under their own terms and delivery estimates.
Refunds
The PDF carries a thirty-day money-back guarantee, with no conditions attached. Printed copies follow Amazon’s returns policy. The detail is on our refunds page.
Your consumer rights
Consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom hold statutory rights concerning digital content. Nothing in these terms removes or reduces them.
Acceptable use
The rules here are the ordinary ones. They exist so that a small site is not overwhelmed by automated traffic or stripped of its content.
Please do not
- Scrape the site at industrial scale or hammer it with automated requests.
- Republish our articles, in whole or in substantial part, on another site.
- Resell, share or redistribute the paid PDF.
- Attempt to break, probe or bypass the site’s security.
Please do
Use our material with your students, quote it with attribution and a link, and tell us when something is wrong. Teachers using these guides in class is exactly what they were written for.
If you want to do something with our content that is not obviously covered here, ask. The answer is usually yes.
Intellectual property and external links
The text, illustrations and downloadable material on this site are ours unless stated otherwise.
Our content
Articles, guides, illustrations, quizzes and PDFs published here remain the property of Frenchtoenglish.com. Personal use and classroom use are permitted. Republication is not.
Links and affiliate links
We link to external sites, including official French government pages and booksellers. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they publish or change.
Some book links are Amazon affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no additional cost to you. That commission never decides what we recommend.
Liability, changes and applicable law
The unavoidable section. It is short.
Availability
We aim to keep the site available and up to date, without guaranteeing uninterrupted access. Maintenance, hosting incidents and attacks happen, and we fix them as quickly as we can.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the website or its free content. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including in cases of fraud or personal injury.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page changes when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised version.
Applicable law and contact
These terms are governed by French law, and the courts having jurisdiction are those of France, without prejudice to the protective rules applicable to consumers in their country of residence.
