Here is the whole game.

Forty rounds, fifty questions each, and they run in order like one long French summer. Round 01, you land in Nice. By Round 05 you are fumbling a bakery order, by Round 16 ordering the evening apéritif, by Round 28 hiking in Provence. Round 40 is the Final Beach Boss. Two thousand questions, start to finish.

Each round is five pages of ten. Pick A, B, C or D, circle it, flip the book, read the answer printed upside down at the bottom. Score the page out of ten, the round out of fifty. Beat it tomorrow.

Here is why it works. Every question makes you pull the French out of your own head, and that act of retrieving is what wires it in for good. Two thousand reps, each one tied to a real moment: the café counter, the market stall, the late train home. Close the book in September and the right answer just arrives on its own, no hunting, no second-guessing. Reps in context, dressed up as a game you actually want to finish. Cheaper than a tutor, more fun than the app you already quit.

The 21 mistakes you drill

Every single question hunts one of these. Each one gets its own lesson page and its own practice set, so by September they are just gone.

One round in action · Round 01, Arrival in Nice

Server: « Bonjour. Vous désirez ? » Your task: order one coffee, politely.

ADonne-moi un café.
BJe voudrais un café, s’il vous plaît.
CJe veux un café maintenant.
DJe voudrais une café, s’il vous plaît.

✓ B. Je voudrais is the polite move, not je veux. And café is masculine, so un café, never une.

Translate: “She is 29 years old.”

AElle est 29 années.
BElle est 29 ans.
CElle a 29 ans.
DElle a 29 année.

✓ C. Age takes avoir, not être. That is mistake number one, and you will have drilled it for forty rounds by the end.

No teacher. No app buzzing at you. No streak to feel guilty about. Just a pen, a terrace, and the French you actually use on holiday. Tan optional. Highly recommended.
